Well, there are NO more excuses, how can you look after and nurture others when you are down/unhappy or just need a lift? On this page I have given you a quick, easy and cheap way to boost yourself and look good too. 

Make your own natural products for your face, body and hair from the fridge, cupboards and garden.

Go on pamper yourself, you deserve it, you are so important!!  It's simple, wonderful and you'll smell delicious and good enough to eat.

Strawberry Cleanser - brighten up dull skin

Mayo Moisturising Mask - Moisturising 2tbsp full fat Mayo

Strawberry Cleanser - brighten up dull skin

  • Mash 2oz strawberries
  • 1/2 pink semi-skimmed milk
  • Strain through a sieve and use cotton wool balls to smooth over face.  Wipe skin clean with clean cotton wool

Banana Face Pack - Soothing for dry skin

Mayo Moisturising Mask - Moisturising 2tbsp full fat Mayo

  • Natural Yogurt
  • 2tbsp runny honey
  • Banana
  • Mash together and apply to the face and neck, leave for 10 minutes, rinse

  •   1tsp baby oil
  • Spread onto face and neck (and rough elbows and knees if desired) leave for 20 minutes, rinse

  • Juice of a lemon
  • 2tbsp finely ground almonds
  • 1tbsp runny honey
  • (optional, to add oatmeal)
  • Mix together, scrub neck and face gently, leave for 5 minutes, rinse

  • Vitamin E capsule (Pierce with a pin)
  • Mix up well, apply to face and neck, leave 10-15 minute, rinse

  • 3 drops Camomile oil
  • Apply over face and neck, with cotton wool (best after oatmeal, yogurt and geranium mask)

  •  4tsp carrier oil (see below, for you skin type)
  • 2 drops geranium oil
  • 4 drops grapefruit oil
  • Mix, apply to face, leave to soak in

Body Scrubs/Masks/Moisturising

  •  2 slices of pineapple
  • 1/2 honeydew melon
  • 12 green grapes
  • Banana
  • 1 kiwi
  • Use a blender, mix until the mixture is fairly lumpy.  Refrigerate for 1 hr.  Apply to body and/or face, leave for 1/2, rinse

  •  3tbs salt6 drops grapefruit oil
  • Beautiful to do this in the bath, scrub over body, then lay and relax in the salt and oil bath for 20 minutes 

Marjoram, Rosemary and Milk blend

Ylang ylang, lemon and grapefruit, jojoba body blend

  • Handful of both plants, washed and cut
  • 2tbs dead sea salt
  • 6tbs full cream milk
  • 3 drops lavender
  • Add all to the bath, lay back and relax... bliss

  • 4tsp joboba oil
  • 3 drops ylang ylang oil
  • 3 drops grapefruit oil

Hair Packs

  • Flash of 1 avocado
  • 2tsp runny honey
  • Mash together, massage into hair, leave for 20-25 minutes, wash as usual 

Cardamom hot oil

  • 2tsp joboba oil
  • 6 drops cardamom oil
  • Large bowl of hot water (in a heatproof bowl)
  • Medium bowl
  • Place oils in the medium bowl, place in the large bowl of hot water.  Leave for 5-10 minutes, scoop warm oil into hands, and work through hair and scalp.  Wrap hair in cling film, leave for 15-20 minutes.  Rinse and wash as normal, hair will feel and smell wonderful!

  • 4tsp joboba oil
  • 3 drops ylang ylang oil
  • 3 drops grapefruit oil
  • 3 drops lemon oil
  • Wrap hair with a towel, then relax for 15 minutes.  Hair will start to tingle and feel warm.  Unwrap, work a good shampoo into hair, (DO NOT PUT WATER INTO HAIR, otherwise it'll be hard to get the oil out) make a rich lather, and then rinse well

Hands

  •  Sugar
  • Rind 1 lemon
  • 1tbs lemon juice
  • Apricot kernel oil
  • Mix together into a bowl, work gently into hands and fingers, wipe off excess with a damp paper towel

  • Hot water in a large bowl
  • 4tsp apricot kernel oil
  • 4 drops ylang ylang oil
  • Into a medium bowl mix the oils, place in the hot water bowl, leave for 5 minutes. Lift out medium bowl with oils and place hands in the warm oil for 5 minutes, gently working and massage into hands.  Wipe excess off with paper towel. If you want to use for another pair of hands, just warm as you first did

  • 4tsp apricot kernel oil
  • 3 drops ylang ylang oil
  • 7 drops lavender oil
  • Mix in a bowl and massage over hands 

Feet

  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • 10 drops of lavender
  • Blend oils and salt, scrub over feet, after each foot place into a foot spa or a bowl of hot water (if you have a lavender plant, cut and wash a handful, place in the foot bowl).  After the scrub, sit back relax and chill!

  • Olive oil
  • 2 drops lemon oil
  • 2 drops lavender oil
  • Blend oils together and massage into feet, for 5-10 minutes.  Put some warm comfy socks on.

Aromatherapy Oils

Cardamom - stimulating, circulation
Cypress     - skin toning, cleansing, balancing
Geranium - skin hydrating, soothing, nourishing
Grapefruit - cleansing, detoxifying, stimulating
Juniper - detoxifying, stimulating, warming
Lavender - soothing, skin rejuvenating, pain relieving
Lemon - cleansing, antiseptic, toning
Ylang ylang - skin hydrating, balancing, rejuvenating
Oatmeal - soothing, anti-inflammatory, softening, removes impurities and cleanse
Natural yogurt - cooling, hydrating cleanser, all skin types, simple and effective face mask.
Sea salt - Stimulate circulation, exfoliator, good for scrubs,
Sugar - Exfoliator, good for scrubs.
Milk - High in protein, calcium and other minerals that makes the skin soft and  supple (if you have an allergy, try soya milk, but the properties are not as nourishing.
Honey - cleanser and antiseptic.  Honey in face masks and cleanser helps blemished skin by preventing scarring.
Banana - potassium is good for the skin
Avocado - Nourishing
Double cream - Moisturising
Vitamin E capsule - Younger looking skin
Full Fat Mayonnaise - Moisturising
Fruit - strawberries, pineapples, grapes, apple, avocado etc, can be used in any body and face packs/scrubs. (blended)

Carrier oil

Apricot kennel - Good for face and body, for dry, sensitive or mature skin
Grapeseed - Good for massaging blemished skin, leaving skin silky
Jojoba - Good for face and body, as it dissolves dirt out of the pores
Olive - Excellent antioxidant.
Sweet Almond - Healthy skin, hair and nails.  Good for body and face massage, especially dry skin

Herbs

 Melissa (part used, leaves) - Calms irritated skin, hot infusion (facial steam) good for headaches or indigestion.
Mytle (part used, flowers or leaves) - Refreshing and toning of the skin, the leaves are more clarifying, in the bath and on the face, a cool infusion of flowers soothes skin, a hot leaf infusion is a refreshing digestive tonic.
Peppermint (part used, leaves) - Fresh and invigorating in the bath, foot baths, facial steams and cleansing masks the menthol content deodorizes the feet and infusion helps indigestion
Roman Chamomile (part used, flowers) - Soothes and anti-inflammatory for dry and sensitive skin, excellent facial steams and baths to cleanse the skin gently, an infusion eases headaches and stress.
Rosemary (part used, leaves) - Safety, do not drink infusion in pregnancy.  Warms stiff muscles, especially in the bath or in foot baths, also eases pain in the joints, an infusion is a very good scalp and hair tonic.
Sage (part used, leaves) - Safety, use in moderation as it has a strong effect. Toning  and powerfully cleansing in baths, foot baths and detoxifying skin treatments, improves the circulation and warms stiff limbs.
Sweet Marjoram (part used, leaves) - Soothes the joints and eases muscular aches and pains, in baths or foot baths, particularly in the evening, also helps with poor sleep, soothes stress and calms indigestion.
Thyme (part used, leaves) - Encourages sweating, so is useful in a detoxifying Epsom salts bath, where it eases aches and pains and soothes the joints,a foot bath helps aching feet.
